Building a Small business website part 1
There is a big difference between building a small business website and having a site online that gets customer engagement, promotes your business and hopefully makes a return on your investment.
In younger years, I used to always see the adverts on TV for weekly magazines – “Build a genuine model of an F1 car” £0.99 for the first issue £2.50 for the next 72 issues to complete the car.
Hopefully here we will build a serious of blogs which you can follow that will guide you through the task of website building, by the end you can make a decision to tackle it yourself or enlist the help of a consultant or company and it’s all for FREE.
In this serious of blogs, I will explore what actually goes into making a small business website, mounting it on the internet, then letting the world know you are here, finally building trust, reputation and a customer base.
- Design platform
- Measurement- metrics – analytics
- Search Engine Optimisation
- Image skills
- Writing skills
- Writing skills
- Online marketing
- Social media Marketing
- Digital Marketing strategy
- Customer identification
- Inbound marketing
- Subscriber building.
It has taken me many years to gain experience of each of these topics so that when I sit with a client and talk about their digital plans, the structure of how to do things is embedded and has a methodical approach. All of the above topics and more will be used in the construction of a small business website with the aim of achieving a return on investment.
Just like any crop a small business website must be tended, fed, nurtured and looked after to allow it to flourish and bear fruit
Each month we will look at an individual topic in depth, over the course of the blogs hopefully you will come to realise, if you are attempting the task yourself, how much learning is involved. If you are enlisting the services of a company or freelancer like ourselves, how much work must go into achieving Return on investment (ROI).
Thorough the course of the articles we will look at the jargon used and try to explain in terms that are understandable by normal humans and blow away some myths as well.
